About Us

A Colorful Start to a Brighter Future!

Back in the day when I was an active member in the Westbury Fire Department, Long Island, New York, we were having our annual Memorial Day Picnic. On that day, Colorfully Yours was born. My wife Deb is an outstanding artist, you know, the ones that can draw without a computer. That day Westbury FD had a call to a huge fire. When the alarm went off, all the men left and their wives were stuck with screaming kids at the picnic and of course we never returned back to the festivities. Deb later came up with an idea, “I should create a coloring book for the fire department so the kids can color!” Deb got to work and created a coloring book with Westbury’s Firehouse on the front cover with all their trucks hand drawn

A month went by and we got a call from one of our neighboring towns, Hicksville Fire Department, saying that they wanted a book for their department. Deb then created a book for Hicksville, but this time we printed 100 extra books and mailed them throughout our area. Within a few days, we got over a dozen responses saying that they also wanted a coloring book for their department. We then realized we had something!

Deb and I along with our daughter Jennifer, who was a toddler at the time, started visiting all the firehouses on Long Island every Sunday morning. Every fire department welcomed us with open arms, being a local Volunteer Firefighter and a New York City Police Officer. We sat down with the Chiefs of those departments and took orders for these coloring books. Deb took pictures of their Firehouses, Apparatus and got their patch. She went back home and created a book for each department. We brought these books to our local printer to print them. The average order was 2500 books. As it turned out the printer told us he couldn’t handle the work so we went to many local printers.

Our business was growing rapidly, it was unbelievable. We continued to visit firehouses over the years and continued to take orders. We expanded on the books, created stock coloring books, pencil kits, rulers, magnets, and much more. Over time we put a catalog together and in 1994, we decided to exhibit our products at the New York State Chief’s Show to expand our customer base throughout New York State. It was a great success, we were bombarded!

In the next six years, we did more and more shows all over the country and Deb developed many more coloring books and products to accompany them. In 2000, we moved into our building we are presently in. We continued to grow and offer more products and now we produce most of them right on our premise.

From our Coloring Books to our School Zip Kits, we also offer many other items such as Sportswear, Embroidery, Decals, Patches, Awards, Plaques, Trophies, Banners, Metal Badges, Glassware, Promotional Products, Gifts, Invitations, Journals and all types of Printing. We attribute our success to the 1000’s of loyal customers we worked with over the past 25 years. We thank you very much, Stay Safe and Healthy.

Meet Ginny Ciccone

Prior to joining the staff of Colorfully Yours in 2006 I had the opportunity to know Joe and Deb on a personal level.  We always spoke about us working together but I never thought it would come to pass.   As destiny would have it in 2006 I had the opportunity to join the Colorfully Yours' staff.
As the office Manager, my responsibilities are endless, but it allows me to get involved in every aspect of the business and also gives me the opportunity to know each and every Customer.  I mostly enjoy the contact with the customers as this is the most important part of my job.  Some days can be very hectic “especially during Fire Prevention” ….. but this is the best part of the job…. Making it happen and Meeting the in hand dates !!!
Although I love me job at Colorfully Yours my favorite past time is spending time with my family….. but Colorfully Yours is 2nd best !!!

Meet Mark Capozzola

Colorfully Yours is proud to introduce our newest partner Mark Capozzola to our group. Mark was born and raised in Northport, Long Island, NY. He attended college at Elon University, in North Carolina. It was there he began to follow his love for art marking. As a freshman he joined the school radio station, WSOE, and took his first creative role as the Promotions Director. He was in charge of producing material that helped advertise the station and its events around campus and the surrounding towns. In his latter years as a radio station executive, he took on the role of Media Director. It was there that his artistic abilities really developed. He designed a new website, created many new t-shirts, redesigned the studio, and even designed and produce a bi-monthly Magazine.  He graduated Elon in 2011, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, with concentrations in Photography and Digital Art, as well as a Minor in Communications. He came on board with Colorfully Yours in the beginning of 2012 as our Graphic Artist. He was also placed in charge of production. In August of 2012 Mark became a working partner/owner with us.  He has great attitude with impeccable work ethics.  He is a very talented Graphic Artist and enjoys working with our customers one on one.

Our New Website ~ In Dedication to Theodore G. Balke "Teddy"

We would like to dedicate our newly redesigned website to Deb’s Dad, Ted Balke, who has been a big supporter of Colorfully Yours from the start. From installing plumbing to funding our first full color catalog, no job was too big or small for Ted! Many of our customers have met him over the years. Whether he was at a show, working at the shop, or delivering hundreds of pounds of coloring books right to your headquarters, no job was too big or too small for Ted! Ted was also a hunter and avid sport fisherman who has traveled all over America to catch sharks, white marlin, rooster fish and even 1,000 lb. tuna; No fish was ever too big to be caught! Debbie, Joe, Jennifer and everyone at Colorfully Yours has lost a dad, tireless worker and true-blue friend. Our lives will never be the same without him, but so much richer in spirit for having known him. Rest in peace Dad, we all miss you so. To all our friends and patrons in the Fire and Rescue Service, all we can say is, "You Should Have Seen the One That Got Away."
